Bench Work and Hand Tools

The work carried out by hand is called bench work and fitting is assembling of parts and sometimes removing metal for assembling.

Hand tools are tools which are held by hand to perform certain jobs that do not require the use of machines for performing the work such as filing, stamping, driving a screw, chipping and sawing.

 

Drilling Operation

The operation of making round holes in metal pieces is known as drilling. Round holes are commonly drilled in metal by means of machine tool called a drilled press.
